Hi! 👋 My name is Panagiotis (short Panos). Since 1992, I’ve been working on R&D projects related to digital spaces, smart and intelligent cities, and cyber-physical systems of innovation.

I hold an Integrated Master in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a PhD in Urban and Spatial Planning, both from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

I’m working in PRAGMA IoT Solutions and teaching at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

I am currently managing European Research Projects focused on the intersection of emerging technologies and societal benefits. My role involves orchestrating collaborative efforts across diverse initiatives, including RE-WITCH, focused on advancing renewable energy technologies; AUgmented CCAM, aimed at enhancing connected and automated mobility; CHRONICLE, focused on improving building performance in order to increase energy efficiency, comfort and well-being; and CREAMARE, where creativity meets maritime heritage to address pressing environmental issues. Passionate about leveraging technology to address complex challenges, I am dedicated to driving high-impact, user-centered solutions in project leadership and digital product design.

I teach courses on smart/intelligent cities, web technologies, new media, and social media in the School of Architecture and in the School of Journalism, Media and Communication.

My research focuses on the Design and Development of Smart/Intelligent Cities, Cyber-Physical Systems of Innovation, Web and Mobile Technologies for New Media, Open Data, and Civic Media. My PhD thesis is titled: “Intelligent Cities: Technologies, Architectures and Governance of the Digital Space”.
